Exceptional original small English Art Deco sterling solid silver round Sporting Kings Hunting Trophy Cup London Dated 1937. Fully hallmarked with English silver hallmarks for silversmith maker Robert Pringle & Sons of Clerkenwell Road, London EC1. They where known to make trophy cups. Highest quality so sought after by collectors. A feature that stands out is the Art Deco design, the big pointy acanthus foliage side handles along with the circular shape of this fabulous little sport trophy which you will fall in love with. Biography of Robert Pringle & Sons had a workshop in Clerkenwell Road, London EC1. Fully hallamarked it has the makers mark for R.P. for Robert Pringle & Son, bears the sterling mark in the image of a lion passant profile from the side indcates the purity of silver being 925 silver, also Assay mark for London Leopard face & Date letter B for 1937. There are no added personal engraved monograms or initials present, number inscribed underneath 9 600. To assay silver is to analyse it and confirm its purity. Pieces that have been analysed and tested receive an assay mark identifying where the test was carried out.
