Super Large William Tonks & Sons Phoenix Brass Inkwell with Stamp Tray c.1890

A very fine example of a Large, high Victorian brass inkwell, The lid cast with a Phoenix in a wreath with foliage and bow above. I have had many inkwells by Tonks over the years but have never seen this model The substantial hinged lid revealing the inkwell and postage stamp tray, and pen holding Arms to the front. By the sought-after manufacturer William Tonks & Sons. Very well cast, finished and detailed The inkwell has its original pottery insert/ liner. The underside of the body bears the manufacturer's trademark W.T&S with sunburst logo. Please see photographs.
