It documents the expedition to complete the ascent of Everest which he led successfully in May 1953. First published in November 1953 by Hodder & Stoughton, this copy is a third impression published in January 1954. The foreword is written by His Royal Highness, The Duke of Edinburgh, K.G who was patron the the British Everest Expedition of 1953. Some two hundred and ninety nine pages long it is stuffed with with eight full page colour photographs including frontispiece of Tenzing on the summit of Everest in May 1953.
