Description
Popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, so called “Tramp Art” was a fashion for making (often complex) objects from scrap wood such as matchsticks. This is a relatively simple example showing a geometric design of matchsticks on the lid and sides with a raised square of bolder geometric shapes on the top together with a brass handle. It must have taken many hours to complete!
