Description
This rare continental European piece from the beginning of the 18th century is charming. Made of patinated pine, one side is hinged to fold up and sit with the additional support leg forming an attractive back panel.
- Nicely shaped convex legs, with a flat shaped piece to support the folding extension.
- Iron hinges which are of different shapes, adding to the character of the piece.
- Tenon joints for the legs visible on the table top.
- Beautiful patination to the pine top.
This will make a fabulous piece for a rustic 18th century interior, such as a country cottage, or perhaps a snug in a large country home.
In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use, this has been smoothed over years of wear and has a beautiful patina. There are characterful signs of woodworm traces, now long dead.
