Unusual Gent's Ottoman Tughra Ring (1 of 10)

I trade in small silver, jewellery and objets d'art. I sell primarily at antiques fairs and in cabinets in Christique Antique Centre in Dorking. I try to find unusual and interesting stock and like to keep turning it over, so I can buy more. Postage and packing are free within the UK - unless explicitly stated otherwise. All fine jewellery will be supplied with a box. If the box/case is described in the text, it will be the one photographed, but may not be if it is not mentioned explicitly. I keep hardly any stock at home, if you want to buy something and need it urgently, I will usually do it the next day, but it may take me some time to respond if you need extra photographs and/or details about the piece that I do not have to hand, as I typically visit the antiques centre just once a week. If you don't see what you're looking for - feel free to send an enquiry via the site. I have only been able to list a portion of my stock.

Description
Fine and unusual Ottoman silver antique Tughra ring - Size U. This unusual gent's ring contains the Tughra of one of the Ottoman Sultans - in gold wirework on a red background within an oval glazed panel with a yellow metal surround. The wide band has profuse niello decoration to the shoulders and is marked 925. Panel 23x17mm. The Tughra is behind glass and worn, however, from basic online research and no knowledge of Arabic, my best guess is that the Tughra is that of Sultan Mahmud II which fits with the apparent age of the Tughra and possibly the glazed panel itself, which are clearly much earlier than the early C20 band. They may be of the period of that Sultanship (1808-1839) and subsequently converted into a ring or be an earlier ring rebanded. If anybody can enlighten or correct me on the Tughra, I'd be grateful. The pics are as good as I can do.
