A very nice Victorian classic straight rail bed with attractive castings in good condition. Fabulously sturdy 2” posts look lovely and give a feeling being securely supported. Beds of this style are always classily tasteful and fashionable, despite being over 100 years old, a true test to its enduring style. Professionally restored to be sturdy and practical, the frame has been shot blasted, primed and hand painted with Little Greene’s Pompeian Ash and waxed to preserve and give a soft sheen. The side rails have been strengthened and adapted to support wood slats or a bed base. Suitable for modern king size mattress 5’ x 6’6” / 150cm x 200cm. Head height 145cm Foot height 105cm Side rail height 35.5cm Overall width 155cm Overall length 214cm Price includes wood slats (Sorry not mattress). As an alternative to the wood slats we can supply a 2” or 4” deep upholstered bed base – Bed photographed on slats and with our Bordeaux mattress.
