Very Pretty Victorian ‘Sweetheart Brooch’ in Silver with 9 Carat Rose Gold Central Design

This is a very pretty Victorian ‘Sweetheart Brooch’ in silver with a 9 carat rose gold central design. Silversmith appears to be ‘L & W’, which is probably Lawson & Ward, who operated in Hatton Garden, London and also Birmingham. This brooch is hallmarked Birmingham, 1890 to the rear. Up and over clip and firm pin. There is also a safety chain and pin to secure. Manufacture of these silver 'sweetheart' brooches began in England around 1887.
