Victorian Coromandel Writing Slope

This is a beautiful antique writing slope dating from the mid 19th Century. It is made of the finest Coromandel wood with inlaid brass stringing and matching brass cartouche and escutcheon. The interior of the box is fitted with a good quality dark blue leather writing surface with a gilt tooled border. There is a removable pen tray, a small lidded section and two inkwells. There are also two hidden drawers concealed below the writing surface that are released by lifting the wood by the inkwell.
