Description
Victorian painted stool (circa 1860) with oval elm top, beautifully cut with a curved hand hole the maker enjoyed their craft. Time worn, remnants of paint, lovely grain and patination to the top tells its own story. Positioned on four legs, these turned and shaped to please the eye more than just a utilitarian piece. Equally the four turned stretchers hold the stool together play their part in the overall pleasing design. The craftsman showing their skills in this piece.
Versatility is the name of this little stool, use in so many areas kitchen, living space, bathroom that extra bums on seats when guests arrive.
