Description
This is a very soft and soothing watercolour of peaceful woodland, entitled "Spring Walk on Grabbist, Exmoor" and signed lower left by Vincent F Nicholls. Grabbist coppice is a section of ancient woodland near Dunster Castle in Somerset, owned by the National Trust and boasting views of Exmoor. Not much is known about the artist save that he was a member of the Minehead Painters' Group and painted in the Exmoor area in the 1960s.
