Description
Stunning vintage 1940s 0.95 carat diamond and 18 carat yellow gold, platinum set boat brooch; part of our diverse vintage jewellery and estate jewelry collections. This stunning, fine and impressive vintage brooch has been crafted in 18ct yellow gold with platinum settings. The gold brooch has been modelled in the form of a boat/ship on scrolling waves. The anterior surface of the brooch is embellished with details reproducing the pales of the ship's hull and sail. The three-dimensional hull of the sail boat conjoins with the upper mast via rope twist decorated stays/shrouds. The ship design is engulfed in scrolling overlapping waves ornamented with forty-one pavé set eight cut diamonds. This vintage gold boat brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged double pin clasp. The revere of the setting is hallmarked with the maker's mark the 18ct gold fineness mark (750) and has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton Xl2 Analyzer) and verified as 18 carat gold and platinum. This vintage gold boat brooch is supplied with an Idgl diamond grading report card. Such examples of nautical jewellery, cresting on an array of diamond waves are rare to the market; this finely crafted detail indicates the high quality. This stunning brooch is the finest of its type you could hope to acquire. Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds.
