Vintage Bohemian 'Red Ochre' Ercol Sideboard

A lovely Bohemian styled Ercol sideboard dating to the second half of the 20th century. The sideboard is solid and well made from elm and mixed woods, it is a quality piece made by Ercol and features panelled doors, gently curved top edges and raised decorative dowels. The front is fitted with double cross panelled doors which are held closed by a sliding central wooden latch. The doors open to reveal a single shallow fixed shelf. Set over the doors are two spacious drawers finished with turned knobs. The sideboard has been hand painted in a colour called 'Red Ochre' by Dulux, the paint is water based eggshell with a smooth fairly matt finish. The colour is a dark dusky terracotta colour. The top of the sideboard has been sanded back to the natural wood and then waxed for protection. The paintwork has been finished with dark wax for protection. Condition The sideboard is in solid structural condition with minor cosmetic marks of age and use. The cupboard and drawer interiors have some marks of use.
