Vintage French 6.68ct Diamond & 18ct White Gold Necklace / Bracelet - Art Deco c.1940

Stunning vintage French 6.68 carat diamond and 18 carat white gold and platinum set Art Deco necklace / bracelet; part of our diverse diamond jewellery and estate jewelry collections. This stunning, fine and impressive statement diamond necklace has been crafted in 18ct white gold, with platinum settings. The central 18ct white gold, platinum set feature domed circular portion of the necklace is ornamented with fifty-eight four-claw set transitional modern brilliant round cut diamonds, arranged in a crisscross pattern. The upper and lower portions of this feature segment are bordered with five individually four-claw set diamonds, graduating in size. The central feature portion is flanked to either side with a bifurcating scrolling motif, emanating from a two-dimensional collar design embellished with thirteen platinum pavé set transitional modern brilliant round cut diamonds. A plain tapering tri-lobed setting graduates the feature setting to a simple band of seven pavé set diamonds, completing the ornamental design. The feature Art Deco style diamond setting suspends from an articulated, sprung snake style chain with ball terminals and integrated hallmarked push fit clasps, accented with the additional benefits of hinged security clasps. This versatile vintage French necklace may also be worn as a diamond bracelet, by removing the articulated plain snake style chain via the push fit fastenings. The clasps are hallmarked to the tongues with the French hallmarks for 18ct gold (eagle's head).
