Vintage Hilleplan Desk by Robin Day in Rosewood & Mahogany
A superb and extremely rare vintage Hilleplan desk by Robin Day in rosewood and mahogany. This was made in England by Hille, it dates from the 1950’s.
This model is an unusual combination of woods, it is more commonly seen in a light Agabar wood throughout. This one is particularly stunning with a contrast of lighter mahogany on the back and sides, with darker rosewood on the top and drawer fronts.
The design is beautiful and very practical, with a large working surface, generous knee hole space and lots of storage space. It sits on steel legs and has a nicely finished back, the top overhangs at the back to allow space for a guest partner worker or a little extra storage space behind.
We have had this stripped and re-polished to a very high standard, the condition is excellent for its age.
