Vintage Japanese Swan Compact Mirror

An enchanting unused Japanese vintage powder compact adorned with silver gilt swans and scenery. Two beautiful swans etched in silver with yellow gold beaks glide through the silver water. Golden ripples form on the pond. The textured scene is framed by gold foliage at the bottom and oriental blossoms which hang from silver branches. Gorgeous! The mirror gives an excellent clear reflection. The original box, pouch, signed puff, spacer rings, white velour edged sifter are present. The interior case is lined with pristine waxed paper. The gilded brass is protected with a layer of lacquer and so it will not tarnish or need to be cleaned. The golden base is smooth with a fine spiral which is so subtle and fine that this area is ideal for engraving. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. Measures 3 inches diameter. Weighs 78.8 grams. This compact is ideal for use as a handbag mirror, with all loose foundation and pressed foundation pans measuring 67mm diameter or less.
