Watch: Gents Avia Wrist Watch, Rare Dial c.1970

The watch has a 17-jewel hand-winding movement, Eta 2408, which is working nicely. The watch measures 35mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold plated and it is in lovely condition. Stainless steel screw-on case back. The case back states that the watch is waterproof but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture. The lens is in good condition (some reflection showing The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands, centre seconds hand and date (an early form of quickset date where the hands are repeatedly moved backwards and forwards between 12 midnight and 8.30pm until the desired date is reached). There is an unusual symbol at number 9, probably a bespoke request as we have never seen it before. A new leather strap has been fitted. The watch comes in its original Avia presentation box.
