Gents Enicar 1005CH chronograph / wrist watch, pre-Sherpa.
The watch has a Swiss 17-jewel Valjoux 92 hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed with the Enicar Watch Co name. The regulator looks like it may have been replaced at some stage as it has the import code for Aero, who also used the Valjoux 92 movements in their chronographs.
The watch measures 34mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is chromium plated while the case back is stainless steel. The condition is good with just light marking, nothing serious at all and the side has opened up a little where the back has been removed in the past (as shown in the photo).
The lens is in lovely condition.
The dial, signed with the Enicar through the Saturn logo, is in its original finish. The hands are original apart from the time recording subsidiary dial. This recording dial has three large markers at three, six and nine minutes. These were aimed at the businessman who made international telephone calls which were very expensive at the time. The calls were rounded to chargeable chunks of three minutes and so watchmaking companies came up with this scale to help people control their talking duration.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
All prices include UK postage (excluding Northern Ireland).
Please contact us for international shipping prices (Ddu, details in delivery information section below). Due to Eu regulations, we no longer post to the Eu or Northern Ireland.
All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a Vat registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the red 'Buy Now' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
