The watch has a calibre 3017 19-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement has the factory stamp for the 1st Moscow Watch Factory, and also the serial number 06855 which dates it back to the 1960s.
The watch measures 36mm diameter excluding the buttons and lugs. The case is chrome plated and has a stainless steel case back. There is light marking but all very acceptable.
The lens is in good condition (some reflection showing in the photos).
The signed dial is in good condition with original hands including the central chronograph hand for measuring the elapsed seconds. Two registers, one for constant seconds and the other to record up to 45 minutes.
The first Strela model was introduced around 1959 and at first, it was only available to the Soviet Air Forces and a few higher-ranking officials. Designed to meet the need for more precision in measuring time in the sky and on the field. These watches were official flight gear and objects of preference given to pilots and cosmonauts over a long period of time.
The Strela dial and hand design changed over time and came in quite a few versions and models, with tachymetric chapter rings, telemeter ring, with non-luminous and luminous dials. These various models were also issued under a few different names over time but today are all commonly called Strelas.
The watch comes on a new leather strap.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
