Watercolour of Anglesey Landscape by John McDougal

These are a good watercolour depicting a stunning landscape of the Anglesey coast painted in 1917 by artist John McDougal, titled across the moors. Original paper label verso. John McDougal was a Liverpool born artist (born circa 1850) and specialised in painting landscape and coastal scenes in Cornwall, Sussex, Devon, Wales, Anglesey and the Isle of Man. He exhibited his works at the Royal Academy, The Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour between 1877 - 1903. His works can be found at the Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery and Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. Last on the market in 1994 when previous owner paid £2,500.
