William & Mary Style Desk in Walnut

This is a stunning walnut desk, in the William and Mary style. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1930’s period. The quality is exceptional, this is so well made with gorgeous walnut veneers on a completely solid oak construction. The drawer fronts have beautiful herringbone inlay around the borders with high quality brass handles. There is amazing figured walnut on the sides and the top edge is also nicely cross banded with figured walnut. The inset leather top is gold tooled and shows some light signs of wear. Perhaps the most striking features of this desk are the thick turned bun feet on which is sits. The back of the desk is also nicely finished, so this can be used as a free standing piece. It breaks down into three separate pieces for ease of transport. We have recently had this re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age.
