Yellow Blanket Box with Upholstered Lid in Green Fabric

This is a useful blanket chest which dates to the early 20th century. Made of pine it is a heavy and well-made piece which began life as a tool chest. The chest has a deep lid which has been newly reupholstered in a dark green textured chenille fabric. The lid opens to reveal a clean interior with chain to hold the lid open. To either end of the chest is a metal handle. The chest has been hand painted in a creamy yellow coloured paint before being waxed for protection. In real life the yellow is much paler than in the photos. The key for the lock is missing. Measurements:- Height 47cm Width 92cm at the base Depth 45cm The measurements are taken at the widest points.
