Beryl Matchwick (1907-1998) was born in Marylebone, London on 23 January 1907, second child of William Guildford Matchwick (1862-1945), a stockbroker,
and his wife Alice née Attlee (1862-1947), who married at Dorking, Surrey on 5 September 1900. In 1911, a 4 year old, living at Greencroft, Belmont Road,
Reigate, Surrey with her parents, 48 year old William and 48 year old Alice, and sibling Daphne Guildford 7. She studied at Redhill School of Art under William
