Deryck Stephen Crowther - Artist

Deryck Stephen Crowther (RBA 1922-2007) was born in Sheffield, studied at the College of Art there; in 1941 won the Royal College of Art scholarship. After war service 1941-1946, studied at the Royal College under Gilbert Spencer, Rodrigo Moynihan and Carel Weight. Made a member of RBA 1958 and became a President of Hartlepool Art Club. In 1989 Crowther won a Higgs and Hill Bursary, being commissioned to paint Port Solent Marina in Portsmouth. Showed His work at RBA, Leicester Galleries and elsewhere. His work is represented in a number of public collections.
