Henry Samuel Merritt (1884-1963) was a painter in oil and watercolour of landscapes and Cornish harbour scenes. He lived in Essex in his early years and was
a member of the Essex Art Club. He exhibited at the Royal Academy before and after World War II. He was commissioned as a war artist to make sketches of
ruins of London after bombing raids, several of which were subsequently acquired the Inner Temple and Imperial War Museum.... See more
