Rupert Nigel Griffiths designed and manufactured furniture from 1945 to 1990 in solid oak, latterly in Brailsford, Derbyshire. He called his business Monastic Woodcraft Ltd and began supplying Harrods, the original Cavendish House of Cheltenham, and Kendal Milne of Manchester until the 1960s, when he began selling directly to the public.
