Item of the Week - Large Pair of Brass & Black Lacquer Corinthain Column Lamps
There is something quite captivating about the transition from Summer to Autumn, when we notice the nights drawing in and the temperature dropping. As we wave goodbye to the long summer nights we welcome the cosy evenings and the comforts of home, so for this weeks 'Item of The Week' we've chosen these sumptuous Antique Brass & Black Lacquer Corinthain Column Lamps c.1920, which are certain to bring serenity and tranquillity to your home.
Lamps have been in use for centuries and once upon a time, were a necessity. In the days before electricity, oil lamps were one of the only means of illumination and mostly shared a similar appearance, but lamps have come a long way since those days. Now they come in all different shapes, sizes and styles.
These wonderfully luxuriant early 20th Century lamps are made from brass & boast an exceedingly pretty brass vine leaf decoration, which delicately creeps up the Black Lacquered Corinthain Columns. On top, rests a classic creamy gold coloured, empire shaped pleated shade, which off sets beautifully against the black and gold column and base.
These quality large lamps would be suited to various rooms around the house, for example in the bedroom, placed either side of a bed, they could create a peaceful and relaxed ambience, or equally, they could be used in a living room or hallway as decorative lighting to set the Autumnal mood. Even in the daytime these lamps would not go unnoticed and would look delightful blended in to your decor.
