Description
This is a lovely mid 18th Century antique lignum vitae mortar of waisted form with turned curved rings to decorate the bowl and domed, stepped foot. A very nice, unusual shape with good colouring and grain.

Condition is very good: There is a small nick to the rim and some nibbles around the edge of the base from years of use. A split to one side of the base and 2 finer ones others under the base along the grain. In good, solid condition.
