18th Century Oak Rectangular Chip Carved Stool

18th Century (c.1720) antique oak rectangular stool with chipped carving at both ends. The oak is dark in colour perhaps achieved by being next to open fires, the grain showing its history over the years of use. Below the stool top is decorated with arched shaped carving above a reeded border. The block support legs held in place with oak pegs, each leg has simple carved rings around the top and lower part of the legs. These are held at the bottom by four low stretchers, perfect for resting your feet on. The stool has the engraving Tp on one lower block end. This stool is a good height to use as a side table to place beside a chair to have your cup or glass of drink on. Put a table lamp or house plant you chose.
