Description
A late 19th century Esme Samson enamel snuff box, or 8-sided form, with painted landscapes in puce on 4 sides and the lid, on a white textured ground. Measurements: Length: 5.7cm Height: 2.7cm Depth:3.7cm Maker’s marks: Samson crossed “S’s” mark to the base. Identifying lug to hinge. Condition: General: Very good. No signs of restoration were found under examination with ultraviolet light. Exterior: Minor wear. Scuff marks to the base. Gilt worn from metal mounts. Interior: Minor wear.
