Description
This is a charming late 19th Century (c.1880) antique walnut dresser, smothered in a decorative mother of pearl inlay. This is a real work of art!
This highly decorative piece of furniture is very pleasing on the eye, having a walnut top bordered with mother of pearl marquetry inlay and moulded edge.
This sits above a panelled, inlaid and carved front which lifts open and slides back to reveal an interior fitted with 5 small drawers and 5 cubby holes, with hidden storage behind 2 carved figures either side of the drawers. This fitted interior section also slides forward.
The lower half has 4 small and 1 larger central drawer over 3 cupboards, all with geometrical panels and inlaid with mother of pearl marquetry.
Carved lion masks on either side of the lower half of this unusual and impressive piece of furniture, with panelled ends and solid hardwood panelled back, all the carvings are of very good quality.
Lovely colour and beautifully aged. It is on compressed bun feet.
