Antique Burmese Silver Box c.1890

This is an exceptional, fine and impressive antique Burmese silver box; an addition to our diverse Asian silverware collection This exceptional antique Burmese silver box has a rectangular form, supported with plain bracket style feet. The body of this box is embellished with impressive embossed and chased scenes depicting figures, in Burmese style attire, sat conversing and interacting. The figures are encompassed with plain borders, accented with scale designs to the background. Each figure design is encompassed with profuse scrolling leaf decoration, in addition to leaf textured borders. The box is fitted with an impressive domed hinged cover, embellished with further decoration, reflecting that of the body. This impressive box has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton Xl2 Analyzer) and verified as sterling silver (925, 925/1000).
