Exceptional, fine and impressive antique George IV English cast sterling silver mustard pot; an addition to our antique 19th century silverware collection. This exceptional antique George IV cast sterling silver mustard pot has a compressed pumpkin-shaped form. The convex lobed body of the mustard pot is plain and unembellished, with a moulded border to the upper rim. This mustard pot is fitted with a domed hinged hallmarked cover is ornamented with corresponding lobed decoration and is surmounted with a plain bun style finial. This exceptional example of antique silverware features an impressive cast silver handle, enveloped with an impressive leaf design incorporating a subtle scrolling thumbpiece. This naturalistic mustard pot opens to reveal the original gilded interior. This exceptional antique silver mustard pot is supported by four impressive bracket style feet, embellished with paralleling scrolling leaf decoration. This exceptional mustard pot is supplied with an associate antique English sterling silver Fiddle pattern spoon. Such examples from this period were crafted in a multitude of forms, many bearing the resemblance of holloware - including teapots; such compressed naturalistic pumpkin formed examples are rare to the market. This antique silver mustard pot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The cast decoration is all very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the mustard pot and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of silver cruets.
