Absolutely stunning identical matched pair of English sterling silver gilt rectangular form open salts cellars of good heavy gauge quality and generous proportions. Each with stylish floral and gadrooned rim above a body and raised on plain stepped base support. Mark of James Kirby Waterhouse & Co. Carver Street, Sheffield. One Salt is assayed in Sheffield 1817, the other in 1822. Location: Dublin City, Ireland. Affordable fixed charge Worldwide Store to door shipping offered in-house Kirby Waterhouse & Company: A well known Sheffield Silversmithing firm of the early 19th century. The partners were James Kirkby, Joseph Waterhouse and John Hodgson. Made candlesticks, candelabra and fine large presentation silver. The Queen owns a set of 12 Candlesticks 1814/1815 by this maker, having entered the Royal collection via Queen Victoria.
