Description
Exceptional, fine and impressive antique Indian silver cologne bottle; an addition to our diverse silverware collection.
This exceptional and large antique Indian silver cologne bottle has a square panelled form with chamfered corners.
The surface of this antique silver bottle is embellished with impressive profuse, finely chased Islamic inspired scrolling leaf designs; a style typically found in Cutch (Kutch) silver work from the second half of the nineteenth century.
The decoration to the four feature panels includes bird and hare designs.
The plain, flared plateaued neck of this antique cologne bottle retains the original plain circular stopper. The stopper is embellished with further scrolling leaf decoration, incorporating a rosette design to the upper portion.
Such large examples are rare and becoming increasingly difficult to locate.
Maker: Bechur
