Description
George III silver has always been popular, and this dual purpose oval salt or butter dish is no different. Made in London by Robert Hennell I in 1774, the family were a long lineage of well respected silversmiths. The design of the dish is that of wirework, perfectly topped with a beaded finish. The body stands on 4 paw feet. The glass insert has star pattern to base, The glass insert has no cracks or slivers of glass missing, but does have a slight imperfection in the base of the glass, visible but of no consequence to the item. A beautiful addition to your dinner table and 250 years old, but in very good condition for its age. The glass is removable for washing.
