Antique Silver Trinket Box Hamilton & Inches

This is an exquisite piece of early 20th century Scottish silver trinket or potpourri box. This very handsome oval trinket box raised on four perfectly round and reeded bun feet. The pierced hinged lid has been cast in the 18th century style depicting a man and woman as a courting couple. Further to this the lid is decorated with ribbon and bow and foliate scroll decoration. The body of the trinket box has been skilfully designed in a repoussé hunting and village scene. This depicts a huntsman and his dogs stalking deer. The interior has been gilt lined and this lining is intact. This is a magnificent example of the work of renowned silversmiths of Hamilton & Inches, exuding quiality and charm.
