The basket is made from a good gauge of silver and has a good quality feel in hand despite its pierced overall design. Wonderfully embellished in neoclassical style, this elegant bowl features a pedestal base with finely pierced walls and swags of laurel leaves drooping from the central cartouche. The top edge is curved in an elegant manner, matching the overall neoclassical style with the border presenting a dotted bead pattern with four points featuring a wonderful acanthus leaf and anthemion motifs. Owing to its flared design, the basket is quite accommodating and allows for a variety of uses even in the modern day.
