This fine antique Victorian sterling silver chamberstick/candle holder has a trefoil, rounded form.
The well is plain and unembellished, encompassed with a plain elevated border.
The plain cylindrical column/capital retains the original detachable hallmarked sconce, accented with a plain applied elevated border.
The impressive and rare example of Victorian silverware incorporates a cylindrical cigar cutter; this operates with a sprung, push fit catch to the upper portion.
The chamberstick is supported by three plain bun style feet.
This exceptional candle holder was crafted by John Thomas Heath & John Hartshorne Middleton of Hukin & Heath, subsequently Hukin & Heath Ltd.
