Exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver mustard pot; an addition to our silver cruets/condiments collection.
This exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian sterling silver mustard pot has a cylindrical-shaped form with a plain circular spreading foot.
The body of the mustard pot is encircled with impressive chased shaped-bead designs, each accented with opposing scrolling borders and matte backgrounds; this is a highly desirable design.
The decoration to the body includes impressive bands of bead decoration to the upper and lower portions, in addition to applied, moulded borders.
This fine Victorian silver mustard pot retains the original hallmarked hinged cover surmounted with an impressive cast silver pierced decorated lobed thumbpiece.
The surface of the cover is encircled with further chased bead design, composing a central vacant shaped cartouche to the upper plateau.
This fine example of antique silverware is fitted with an impressive cast opposing scrolling handle accented with a leaf design to the handpiece.
The mustard pot is fitted with the original removable clear glass liner.
The cover retains the original gilding to the interior; this is a fine feature and indicates the high quality of the piece.
This exceptional mustard pot is supplied with an associated Fiddle pattern sterling silver spoon, crafted by the London silversmith William Eaton in 1838.

This antique desirable style silver mustard pot is an excellent gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent condition. The chased decoration is all very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear.
