Such large and exceptional regimental examples are rare to the market; this pilgrim vase/flask was acquired from the Berwick regiment and Kings Own Scottish Border Museum.
A Victorian silver pilgrim flask is a distinguished collectable, reflecting historical craftsmanship. In pristine condition, it serves for ceremonial toasts at milestone events or as an authentic accessory for historical gatherings.
Note: * The pear-shaped form of the pilgrim flask (also known as a pilgrim vase and a pilgrim bottle) bears its roots from the leather flask carried by a pilgrim or traveller of the Middle Ages; depending on size, it would be used to carry water, wine or oil. Featuring a chain handle, it was designed for suspension from the shoulder, ensuring practicality and ease of transport.
