Art Deco Shari Langlois Double Vanity Powder & Rouge Compact in Original Silk Box c.1920

On offer is this rare Art Deco 1920s Shari Langlois double vanity case with its original silk covered presentation box. This vanity case is octagonal and measures 4.5cm by 4.5cm. The case is made of silver metal with fabulous cherry blossom design on the base. The lid has the same cherry blossom design in gold tone metal overlaid over the underlying silver coloured metal. The case has a lift up catch and firm hinge and opens to reveal a godet for pressed powder in the base and the original blue silk backed puff. Under the lid is a circular, hinged metal mirror which also acts as the divider to the second compartment. The mirror lifts up to reveal a godet of pressed pink rouge. Both powder and rouge compartment seem to retain most of their makeup contents. The silk box has lost some of the lid design and has some light edge wear. The fitted interior is in good order. The vanity case is also in good order, free from dents or dings and with some minor metal tarnish. Thank you for looking.
