Description
A Georgian bucket shape coffee can by Chamberlain's with ring handle and painted with a burnt orange enamel ground reserving white lotus type flowers on a gilt flowering vine. Geometric gilt borders around the rim and foot. Inside the base is a painted armorial. Unmarked, c.1815.
measurements
It measures 7cm (2 3/4") high, 7cm (2 3/4") rim to rim and 9.5cm (3 3/4") rim to handle.
declaration
The Fancy Fox has clarified that the Chamberlain Worcester Porcelain Tapered Armorial Coffee Can c.1815 (LA424410) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1815
condition
Good overall condition: there is a bruise to the inside of the rim with a small glaze loss. The whole fault sits over a concentrated area of kiln dust and I'm confident it is a firing defect. Further kiln dust spotting to the edge of the inside of the base. Some light handling wear overall; more so to the gilt inside the rim and to the edges of the geometric bands.
location
This Chamberlain Worcester Porcelain Tapered Armorial Coffee Can c.1815 is located in Suffolk, United Kingdom
