Decorative Victorian Silver Plated Egg Coddler or Boiler

This is a very decorative late 19th Century (c.1895) Victorian antique silver plated egg coddler or boiler with a cast bird finial laying eggs and a floral engraved pull off lid. The egg shaped body has garland engraving and three cast unusual scroll legs with a chicken motif and claw feet. It is complete with its original four sections which include the lid, the base, the burner and the internal frame for holding the eggs. The silver plating on the lid is slightly worn as shown.
