Edwardian Giltwood Girandole Pier Mirror

Light, Reflections & Carvings.... A little bit of everything on this Girandole pier mirror. The arched bevelled mirror takes centre stage with a foliate carved border. The corners are nicely designed with a sunburst in the left and right corners. The top section has a stepped cornice with a flat pediment supported by carved corbels on each side, giving the frame a grand elegant, classic look. The bevelled mirror is framed with a floral detailed border to embellish the frame with more detail. The really nice touch which sets the frame off is the pair of delightful serpent shaped, and twisted branches with a drip sconce below the capital, while the beaded rope detail is visible on both. You don't often see the directional girandole branches still in tact and working, but this is a gem. Period: Circa 1901-1910 Material: Giltwood, Mirror & Brass
