Description
A very pretty Derby coffee can with a basket weave moulded band to the upper half and unusual scalloped rim and finished with a "Dresden" shaped handle. Exquisitely decorated with garden flowers including a magnificent rose spray, painted very much in the style of William Billingsley. Gilt acanthus detail to the handle and the rim. Red painted mark, c.1820.

In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration. Slight wear to the gilt on the rim but otherwise no discernible handling wear to the enamels or gilding on the handle. A couple of very small areas of faint crazing. The basket weave moulding is nice and crisp. Some firing faults inside the base around the edge.
