All of our clock movements are restored by our horologist, who is a Fellow of the British Horological Institute (FBHI), having 35 years of full time professional engagement in the repair & restoration of clocks, watches, music boxes & barometers. He was the recipient of the 1977 Worshipful Company of Clockmakers Bronze Medal.

This is a fine quality Ormolu French clock with Sèvres style porcelain panel, retailed by Robert Bryson & Sons of Edinburgh, circa 1870.
The extremely well executed case with a beautifully modelled gilded bronze figure of the Greek goddess Hebe, beneath a finely painted panel of colourful flowers, set within a cartouche with pompadour blue ground.
The case is in excellent condition and the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright.
The clock sits upon its original gilded gesso base with the original velvet top. (excellent condition)
The clock comes with the original ebonised wooden stand and the original glass dome. (optional as the dial and movement are protected by glazed bezels)
The white enamelled dial is in fine original condition with blue Roman numerals and outer minute track, signed to the centre Robert Bryson & Sons Edinburgh.
Opening bevel edged glazed front door and opening glazed door to the rear.
The original gilt brass trefoil design hands.
The high quality French movement has the A D trademark on the backplate and is numbered 4114.
The movement is an 8 days duration, count wheel striking the hours and half hour on single on a bell.
The original brass bob pendulum.
The movement is currently awaiting full restoration by our FBHI horologist and will come with our two year mechanical guarantee when fully overhauled.
