Fine Spode Regency Porcelain Gilded Imari Cup & Saucer 1956 c.1815

A fine Spode bone china London shape cup and saucer, elaborately decorated with an oriental theme in an imari palette in red and blue with lots of gilding, and some tiny yellow and lilac accents. The central scene to the saucer is a pagoda set amongst large stylised trees and is partly replicated to the lower half of the cup. The wide border frieze consists of gilt embellished mazarine blue panels reserving red lotus flowers alternating with a peculiar arrangement of huts in a landscape. A red stylised floral frieze runs inside the cup rim, framed in gilt and finished with a gilt handle. Marked with pattern number 1956, c.1815.
