French Silver Coffee Pot - Antique c.1800

This is an exceptional, fine and impressive, large antique French silver coffee pot; an addition to our diverse silver teaware collection This exceptional antique French silver coffee pot has a plain elongated baluster form. The large body of the antique French coffee pot is plain an encircled with a chased decorated band of tiered leaf ornamentation to the lower portion of the waisted neck, in addition to a bead decorated border to the upper portion. This antique coffee pot is fitted with a hallmarked domed hinged cover encircled with palmette style leaf ornamentation to the rim. The domed portion of the cover is encircled with a simplified engraved laurel leaf design, surmounted by the original and impressive cast silver finial. This fine example of antique teaware retains the impressive and original carved painted wood handle accented with a silver rosette to the upper terminal. This antique coffee pot is further embellished with a cast swan necked spout ornamented with an exceptional creature/dragon design to the tip of the spout. This fine example of French silverware is supported by three impressive cast and applied legs accented with paw feet and impressive large leaf designs to the sockets; the socket of one leg continues to the lower terminal of the handle.
