Description
A fine George III walnut chest of drawers, dating from circa 1750.
The chest features a beautifully figured cross banded and quarter-veneered top, accentuated by chequered string inlay.
The well-proportioned arrangement consists of two short drawers positioned above four long drawers, offering ample storage. Each drawer is adorned with decorative brass swan-neck handles and fitted with delicate bone shield-shaped escutcheons, enhancing the piece's period charm. The drawers are of solid oak construction and are accompanied by two keys.
Set upon bracket feet, this chest maintains its classic Georgian aesthetic, characterised by clean lines and well-balanced proportions.
The warm patina of the walnut highlights the natural beauty of the wood grain, making this a timeless and elegant addition to any traditional or period-inspired interior.
